Our journey began with a simple problem—finding a natural-looking, effective filter for shallow water vivariums. After countless trials, we refined our design through three evolving prototypes. We are continuing to improve the ease of use, durability, cost, and appearance of the prototypes.
The first was hand-cut from plastic sheets and glued together; perfect to conceptualize but clunky.
The second, 3D-printed, improved durability but lacked functionality.
Our third prototype worked reasonably well during test trials but was too complex and didn't look great.
Finally, our latest version features snap-fit parts, safe materials, and a streamlined design, making it both efficient and easy to use. Every step has been a learning process, driven by a passion for nature and engineering, resulting in a filter that blends seamlessly into any habitat while keeping the water clean with minimal effort
At HydroHaven, we are dedicated to making natural-looking, low-maintenance solutions for terrariums and vivariums. Our next step is to bring our filters to the next level by transitioning from 3D printing to injection molding, ensuring higher quality, durability, and efficiency. In the future, our filters will come pre-decorated with sand and gravel, making them blend even more seamlessly into natural habitats.
We’re also developing innovative new products, including a filtered water bowl attachment for fully land-based terrariums. Unlike anything currently on the market, this will keep water clean and fresh without daily changes, making care easier for pet owners. Looking ahead, we plan to create a natural fountain with live plants and moss, bringing the tranquility of nature into any space. With your support, we can continue designing products that enhance both aesthetics and functionality in reptile and amphibian habitats.
